SUMMARY:Nosh Informational Session
DESCRIPTION:The Lafayette\, Louisville\, and Superior chambers will be hosting an informational session regarding tentative plans for the Nosh third-party delivery platform to expand to serve restaurants in East Boulder County.\n\n \n\nNosh is a third-party food delivery service co-owned by local independent restaurants. It bills itself as a more ethical and beneficial option than other third party delivery companies like DoorDash\, GrubHub\, Postmates\, and Ubereats. Nosh charges a 15% commission instead of the more common 25-40% charged by other third party delivery services. \n\n \n\nIn this informational session for restaurants in East Boulder County\, the founder of Nosh and its local Boulder coordinator will discuss the possibility of Nosh expanding to include the municipalities of Lafayette\, Louisville\, and Superior. The chambers of commerce in this area are cohosting this call as a service to their members and other restaurants struggling with high third-party platform fees. \n\n \n\nNosh began in Iowa City\, Iowa\, where local restaurants banded together to create their own restaurant delivery service. Soon after\, restaurant owners in Northern Colorado heard about what the Iowa restaurants were doing and requested that the model be implemented in their community. In 2018 Noco Nosh was established\, serving Fort Collins\, Greeley\, and Loveland. \n\n \n\nNow local restaurants are establishing Nosh in Boulder and are hoping to expand into the rest of Boulder County. There are 15 Boulder restaurants that have so far invested and 100 Boulder restaurants are on the platform. Nosh is endorsed by the City of Boulder\, and in November and December 2020\, they covered the 15% commission on deliveries made by NOSH as well as the delivery fees. \n\n \n\nHere is a link to a video of the Boulder restaurant investors talking about Nosh. \n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-o_I-uSOcI\n\n \n\nThe individuals from Nosh will be responsible for the content of this Zoom meeting and any further action will be directed by Nosh\, not the chambers.\n\n \n\nAny questions may be directed to Shawn Camden\, Owner of Sancho's Mexican Restaurant and local Nosh coordinator\, at 303-955-4772 or shawn@sanchosmexican.com
