Each month, the Superior Chamber in partnership with MOD Moms hosts a FREE webinar for professional and entrepreneurial women in and around Superior. Amazing guest speakers will focus on building skills that make women successful in their chosen area of professional focus.

"Why Diversity and Inclusion Should Matter to You"

Our speaker for March is Karen Burkett, Director of the Queen's University School of English in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. This unique department at the university welcomes more than 600 students a year from around the globe. Karen is queer-identified and has focused much of her academic research and committee service around issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Her talk "Why Diversity and Inclusion Should Matter to You" will explore the question of why diversity and inclusion matter in your business and personal lives. What is a deficit model and how can we do better? How can we engage with diverse teams and clients in a meaningful way? Participants will have the chance to interact with each other and the material throughout the presentation, and resources will be provided for further exploration.
