Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Overnight In-Home Pet Sitters to provide exceptional care for our clients' pets in their homes overnight. This role involves ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of animals, during overnight stays providing morning/evening care and mid-day potty breaks (when needed). Additional pay for high-needs pets that are in need of middle of the night attention.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong handling skills, and the ability to manage various pet needs with compassion and professionalism. Prior experience in veterinary assistance, animal handling, or pet sitting is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work with a variety of animals, including dogs & cats primarily and the occasional birds, caged rats, and perhaps more depending on client needs in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Your Pet Staycations is a premium, in-home pet care company providing calm, reliable overnight care for pets while their humans are away.

We are hiring In-Home Pet Sitters to join a small, trusted team. This role is designed as supplemental income and is best suited for responsible, grounded adults looking for a fun-loving way to make extra income caring for animals.

Service Area

You must be able to travel within:
Erie, Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, Boulder, Longmont, Niwot, Golden, Lo-Hi (Highlands), and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Stay overnight in clients’ homes
  • Provide evening, overnight, and morning routines, plus a mid-day potty break when required
  • Follow care instructions including feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications (when applicable), play, enrichment, and companionship
  • Send daily photo and text updates using company apps and technology
  • Maintain a clean, respectful presence in clients’ homes
  • Document observations and communicate any concerns regarding pets’ health or behavior to clients, Your Pet Staycations Management, or veterinary staff (when necessary).

Scheduling Expectations

  • Ability to accept 1–3 overnight sits per month minimum
  • Timely responses to job offers and scheduling requests
  • Weekend and holiday availability is expected

This is not last-minute gig work. Sitters may decline individual jobs, but consistent participation is expected.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely walk and manage dogs of various sizes and energy levels
  • Ability to remain physically active throughout the day
  • Ability to maintain awareness and control for pet safety

Requirements

  • Genuine love for animals, especially cats and dogs
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone with app capability and comfort learning new technology
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Comfortable staying overnight in clients’ homes
  • Completion of paid training (6-hour online, in-house pet sitter certification — required)

Pet sitting or animal care experience is a bonus.

This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to animal safety. Candidates should be comfortable working overnight hours in a quiet environment while maintaining high standards of animal care.

  • Do you. have the flexibility and availability in your schedule to provide a 30 minute walk both morning and evening along with pet(s)' feeding schedule as well as a mid-day potty break, AND not leave the animal home alone longer than generally ~4 hours
